#72

Today, Naomi came home!

She brought home two new water bottles.  They're smaller than her original Camp Selah water bottle - or at least, they're taller and thinner.

We had lots of fun.  She brought home candy. I think they're Airhead Extreme Bites because of last year's silly song.  The first verse says, "On the first day of summer camp, my parents sent to me a box of Airhead Extremes."  It keeps going up and up adding them up like the twelve days of Christmas.  I think there are only six verses. The verses get longer as you sing.

She also brought home Lays Barbecue Potato Chips.  They're a little spicier than normal.

Yesterday, on the first day of swim lessons, we had rules and then free time.  This time, we had lessons.  We did "ice cream scoops" which is a non-splash version of "windmills", only you keep your arms underwater.  The straight kicks are like dog-paddle kicks.  We were in the shallow end class.  There were two in the deep end class.  Sam & I weren't in it.  During free time, we learned a new game.  It's not exactly a water game.  You can do both.  Somebody is the fox. People say at the same time, "What time is it, Mr. Fox?"  Whatever number they say is how many steps both people take forward.  When he say, "Dinner Time"< he runs after you while you ice cream scoop back to the start.  If you get tagged, you're the fox.  If both of you get back without getting tagged, he's still the fox.  Ice Cream Scoop is kind of like dog paddle with the same kicks and different arms.  The hands make an ice cream scoop and scoop the water.

I like my new swim lessons better than Goldfish because  you actually get to do the swimming.  At Goldfish, they would push and hold you up while you're just moving your arms and kicking aimlessly.  They have you do the strokes properly, but you're not actually swimming.
