Today we went to the pool after lunch. Iva took us.
A few weeks ago, at Primary Week, I stayed all night for half a week, Wednesday - Saturday, at Camp Selah. For free swim, you didn't have to be at the waterfront. You had to swim at the waterfront but you could do other things, too. Octoball which is really fun, play at the hockey basketball court, or the playground.
Also for free time, I went paddle boating twice which you can't for free swim. I couldn't reach the pedals so someone else pedaled. The first time it was Malachai from my cabin. The second time it was someone else who wasn't from my cabin. I steered both times. The chain came off twice the second time we went paddle boating. We got it back on both times. The second time we were coming back in. The first time we were leaving. There's something strange about the sprockets. They're both the same size instead of the back one being smaller like on a bike. The front one was a normal size and the back one was the same which probably explains why they weren't fast. They had paddle wheels instead of propellers. They would be super hard to fix if they had propellers because you would have to change direction - which way the back gear was spinning with a corner kind of gear - which I don't remember what it's called - so it's spinning at right angles. But you might want two of those for two propellers.
I steered with a rudder. To control the rudder at the back was a steering bar, a tiller, instead of a steering wheel. I made one of those out of Lego when I came home.
I didn't go canoeing at all that week. Every free swim, I swam.
For surprise hour one night, we had the slip & slide which we had for one surprise hour at day camp when you stay overnight on Friday.
