Yesterday, I got a new paper airplane book, "Ultimate Paper Airplanes for Kids". It's really good. We made the belly button which is kind of like the Japanese dart plane. It's more complicated than the planes we build in America. You can make it spin and it has more folds. You can make it spin by folding the back wing tips in different directions. If you fold them both the opposite way, it will spin the other way. The planes we build have a flat back so you can't fix a dive, stall, or turn unless you take it all apart. And then you're not so sure because you have to rebuild it again. The flat ones won't spin in different directions either.
It's made out of white paper. The flying wing that we made later in the day used the paper in the book. It's rip-out and there's four of each. I think the belly button flies better but the flying wing flies pretty good, too. The flying wing doesn't have a fuselage to grab on to. We tried to use the white paper but I couldn't find where the fold lines were so we used the paper in the book so we could find the lines. You still can't find them very well. The lines are numbered.
