Sunday was my race day. Brick's and Katie's, too.
I went in Dill's car to get to Brick's start. There was a sign that said "Lakefront Marathon Start". We went straight to Katie's start and imagined running the whole way like Brick.
Naomi, Caeli, and Ivy were running. We went to my start which had a start sign also. Brick ran part in the rain and part in the not rain, but I ran all in the rain. I ran in a sort of C shape. I started to go towards the sign that said "Veteran's Park", but then I was old to turn. I finished the race last but not dead last. The people in pink were dead last.
Past the finish line, somebody handed me a medal. I was really happy because I finished a race. At the end I had snacks: cookies and water. I had Starburst for dessert. I only had one piece out of the two piece pack and I never had the second one. I don't know what pants I was wearing. I can't find anything in the pockets.
We waited for Brick. He took 3 hours and, I think, 30 minutes. I don't know how long we had to wait for him. I think about two hours. Brick finished nicely. He jumped over the finish bump.
After that, we went and changed. I played with the snap bracelets I had been wearing all day. They were Brick's. And I saw his guns and medals. They said the guns were for war but they were dart guns. They didn't have any darts in them. He had foam swords. Katie had a gnome.
We went to have Kopp's custard.
